Road tripping with my two favourite allies.....

Little Rock, Arkansas/Dallas, Texas: Thursday November 7, 2013

Continuation of our road trip today with Little Rock giving us a sunny send off....a bit of a change from the cold and rain yesterday....

From Little Rock we travelled to Hot Springs, the boyhood home of Bill Clinton. Along the way we were passed by a car jacked up on huge tyres with a Texas number plate and a pair of silver balls hanging from the bull bar. No really. And as we were passing the equivalent of Piss Weak World, the theme from National Lampoon's Vacation, "Holiday Road", began to play on the radio.....nice work.

Ben and Amber got their first taste (literally) of dead skunk. Deelightful!!!

Off the interstate for this part of our travels and we travelled through Daisy and lunched in Dequeen much to the delight of the staff....we have great accents.....

We passed through Oooooooklahoma and then crossed the Red River (nod to John Wayne) into the Lone Star state of Texas!!! Bullet holed welcome sign and all....

Ben and Amber kindly indulged me so I could buy my gen-yoo-ine Texas cowboy boots....not that there were many to choose from.....

And that's just a small selection of the boots that were up for grabs.....in the end, I choose a very sedate pair.....

BIG, MASSIVE, HUGE cudos to Ben for his fantabulous driving today. The freeways in Dallas were insane with exits to both the left and right and the GPS was not giving the most coherent directions. If it had of been me driving, I would have been sobbing and rocking back and forth by the side of the road. Well done, Benjamin!!!!!

Hot tip: when ordering delivery Chinese in Dallas, take into consideration that all meals come with rice, egg rolls and fortune cookies.....rice and noodles and a serve of egg rolls are probably not necessary to order!!!

And duck sauce doesn't taste like ducks.
