Memphis Tennessee: Tuesday November 5, 2013
IHOP for breaky and my first taste of grits. After some experimenting, they taste best with butter, butter pecan maple syrup and salt. Our hostess thought we were nuts!!
Graceland was amazing. The house itself was tack central, but it was the 70s.....the Jungle Room even had shag carpet on the roof!!
Gold and multi-platinum records as far as the eye can see.....
The AMAZING paisley wedding suit....
Some great outfits....
The Meditation Garden houses the graves of Elvis, his stillborn twin and his parents....
The front of Graceland.....
They let anyone in....
Ben has the better photo: him falling down the stairs and almost knocking over the vase to the left of the picture....
Amber and I took some great photos in a photo booth and sent me off into a laughing fit....which led to some other great photos....
After spending about four hours at Graceland, we sat on the banks of the Mississippi and waited for the sun to set....which it did at 5.02pm.....the sun sets bloody early here!!!
Another Man vs Food destination: the Redezvous. If only I ate pork, I'm sure I would have been as happy as Ben and Amber.
Ben and Amber had the ribs and beef brisket combo...
In total our dinner looked like this....
For me, the beans were the best part!!!
Not having eaten enough, we then bought ice cream at Baskin Robbins. I had Trick or Treat: orange filled Oreos, Babe Ruth and Butterfingers and Nutty Coconut: coconut, almonds, pecans and walnut. Dessert was by the guitar shaped pool at our hotel....pictures pending....
