Across the road from our hotel is Louis Armstrong Park, which is also the location of Congo Square where slaves used to meet. In NO, slaves could eventually buy their freedom as they could own property. They also had weekends off....'good' conditions for the times. Marie Leveau used to meet here as well....
ROAD TRIP!!!!!!
We started out from NOLA.....and headed across the 27 mile long causeway bridge across Lake Pontrachain....
Pelicans here are smaller, browner and have black bills....
We stopped in Jackson, Mississippi and had Whataburger.....
We travelled through Pochohanas....Canton....BENtonia.....Yazoo City....
This part of the trip is for Ben and for him to travel the blues road. Indianola is the birthplace of BB King....
Rock 'n' roll Amber.....
Past the Mississippi State Penitentiary.....Rome....Dublin....good to know I don't have to go to. Europe now.....and ended up in Clarksdale: the Crossroads. But more on that tomorrow......
