And let the celebrations begin.....

You only turn forty once and it's getting to a point where the only milestones to be celebrated are those that end in a zero or a five!!

So to begin the hilarity that will be my "Nervous BreakdownTour", I invited some of the crazies over to help celebrate......40 days earlier than my 40th.....September 14 was actually 42 days earlier, but we all know I suck at maths....

And when I say "crazy", I mean people who are so nuts that I can get them to do anything. Like some examples? What about running up and down my driveway with a balloon between their legs?????
On your marks......

Tartface cheated, of course!!!!

It took some a while to get the hang of things.....

The handball competition was won easily by Ash. Now I don't mean to diminish his win, but Kim was doing the scoring for this event. Some pre-marital assistance perhaps? Or is Ash just that good with handling his balls???

But wait!!! There's more! What party would be complete without a Musical Chair Event?? This is where rivalry and competitiveness come to the fore! Especially between the Liistro brother and sister team of Rick and Ivana.

Eventually Richard, using his superlative spinning and running skills, was triumphant!!!!

As you can see from both this and Ash's pic, my great idea of medals needed some rethinking as they ended up becoming fairly ludicrous headbands!! But gold is gold.....right?? Winners are grinners??? Taking it one game at a time??

Next on the agenda, was Pin the Tail on the Donkey. It was alarming to see how many of the people I know will cheat to win a prize!! Some creative "I'll-just-touch-the-corner-of-the poster-and-then-guess-where-to-pin-it" was the favourite cheating technique. However, the most amazing effort of the night went to Amber. She of the spin around three times and pin the tail bang on the money.....donkey.....Considering she has never won a party game before, this was some pretty fab-o target practice!!!

Pass the parcel followed and, from a slightly drunken memory, Katie took home the chocolates for this one. Literally.

All in all a great effort by everyone and I'm impressed that you all went along with my childish games. Life begins at 40, right??

Thanks to one and all for this first of many celebrations to come!!!!
